Couple Jailed After Trading Newborn Baby For $15k Trip To Disney World

New Castle, Delaware - Bridget Wismer, 33, and John Gavaghan, 54, were jailed after Wismer allegedly sold her newborn baby to Gavaghan for 15k, so that she could take her two sons to Disney World.

According to the New Castle Sheriff's Office, an investigation began after Wismer's grandmother reportedly contacted police and stated that Wismer was planning to sell her newborn son to Gavaghan and his live-in boyfriend for $15,000.

Investigators say Wismer gave birth to her son on August 31st, listing Gavaghan on the birth certificate even though he was not the child's biological father.

In late September, police received another tip alleging that Wismer and Gavaghan had completed the transaction and that Gavaghan had taken the 1-month-old child to his home.

Officers gathered enough evidence to arrest both suspects, including surveillance camera footage from a Delaware casino that showed Gavaghan signing handwritten documents and giving a money order to Wismer.

Investigators located the infant at Gavaghan's residence and placed the child into protective custody. The child is now in foster care.

Court documents allege that Wismer had planned to use the proceeds of the sale to take her two boys to Disney World.

Wismer was booked into jail and charged with felony dealing in children. She was released after posting $750 bail for those charges, as well as $1,575 on an outstanding warrant.

Gavaghan was also booked into jail on charges of felony dealing in children. He was released on $7,000 unsecured bail and ordered to have no contact with the baby.

Wismer's family denied the allegations, stating that Wismer's grandmother was confused and that the entire incident was a "big misunderstanding."

White Racist couple murdered parents then crossed US hunting for Jews

A white supremacist couple face the death penalty after allegedly being caught on their way to kill "more Jews" following a two-week manhunt in which at least three people were murdered.

David Pederson, 31, and his girlfriend Holly Grigsby, 24, were arrested north of Sacremento, California. An arsenal of loaded handguns and rifles was found in their vehicle.
Their alleged victims include Pederson's stepmother, Leslie Pederson, 69. Her body was found in her home near Puget Sound in Washington state, with her hands bound by duct tape, her head wrapped in a pillow soaked in blood and a sword lying nearby.
Yesterday the pair appeared at Yuba County Court, Marysville, California. The court heard Grigsby had confessed that after killing Pederson's stepmother they murdered his 56-year-old father by shooting him in the back of the head as he drove them to a bus station.
They then drove to Oregon where, Grigsby told police, they killed 19-year-old Cody Myers after mistakenly concluding that his last name meant he was Jewish. The couple were driving Myers's car when captured. Both have known links to white supremacist groups and Pederson has a prominent White Power tattoo on his neck.
After their arrest, Grigsby allegedly said that she and Pederson were on their way to Sacramento to "kill more Jews". They have also been named as suspects in the murder of Reginald Clark, a 53-year-old black man, whose body was found in a car in Eureka, California.
In an interview from jail, Pederson - who has spent most of his adult life in prison - claimed he killed his father because he believed he had sexually molested his sister and cousin.
Police think Mrs Pederson was killed because they thought she knew of the abuse but did not stop it. No proof has been found that the molestation happened.
Prosecutor Mark Roe said the pair face charges of aggravated first-degree murder and warned the killings in Oregon and California could also be prosecuted as hate crimes.
Pederson and Grigsby are being held in prison before extradition to Washington after bail was set at $1million each.

Woman Charged With Producing Child Porn Pictures To Keep Military Boyfriend Happy

Kings Mountain, N.C. - Crystal Dawn Johnson Smith, a 21-year-old North Carolina woman has been jailed after she allegedly coaxed a pre-teen girl into posing for child porn photos, which were then sent to Smith's boyfriend.

According to Kings Mountain Police, Smith has been on the run for more than two years after a warrant was issued for her arrest on the child pornography charges.

Smith was finally arrested in Washington this summer during a traffic stop and was then extradited to North Carolina to answer the charge.

Investigators say Smith took pornographic photos of a pre-teen child in October, 2008. Smith also allegedly coaxed the girl into engaging in various and multiple sex acts. Smith reportedly sent the pornographic images to her boyfriend, Derek Johnson, who is stationed at a military base in California.

Authorities say Derek Johnson's case is being handled by military police in California.

Smith was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on a charge of first-degree sexual exploitation of a child.

Orange County authorities rushed to the scene and seized the white male suspect, believed to be 42-year-old Scott Dekraai, in a traffic stop a half-mile from the shooting.
The alleged shooter, who lives locally, was thought to have been wearing body armour during the attack.
When officers raided his car they found multiple weapons, police said.

He didn't offer any resistance when he was arrested.
Seal Beach Police Sergeant Steve Bowles said: 'We believe he is the only shooter. He was taken into custody without injury.'
Witnesses said the gunman was embroiled in a domestic dispute over custody with his ex-wife, Michelle, who worked as a stylist at the salon.
The pair are thought to have a seven year old son.
Dekraai is said to have moved to the area two years ago after being honourably discharged from the military because of a work-related leg injury.
Police in Seal Beach would not confirm any relationship between the man and any of his victims.
'There are victims throughout the entire salon,' Sergeant Bowles added.
'There are survivors from inside the salon. A crime of this magnitude is not something Seal Beach is familiar with.'
Among the victims is thought to be the owner of the salon.
Randy Fannin died in the shooting, according to his niece, Tami Scarcella, 39.
'Randy is dead,' she said while hugging a friend. 'Randy is dead for sure.'
Police confirmed that one of the victims is male.
A middle-aged woman called Cindy was having her hair done by Mr Fannin when the gunman opened fire.
'We thought it was maybe firecrackers,' she told the LA Times.
'But he just didn’t stop. Anybody he saw he was shooting.
'It went boom, boom, boom. I was afraid he was going to shoot everybody.'
The one remaining injured victim is being treated at Long Beach Memorial Hospital.
Some of those inside managed to escape without harm, police said.

Bowles said the bodies of the killed and the wounded were scattered throughout the salon.
One wounded man was found outside the building. It wasn't clear if he was trying to flee when he was shot.

'We're unsure at this point if he shot from the entrance and people, as they were shot, ran in seeking cover or seeking shelter, but we have fatalities throughout the salon,' he said.
'From my observation, it did look like people were seeking shelter at the time.'
He said the salon was busy, with every hair-dressing station in operation.

Salon employee Lorainne Bruielle, who wasn't working Wednesday, told the Long Beach Press-Telegram the gunman was the husband of another employee.
Bruielle said she talked to the husband of one of the employees involved, who said one employee locked herself in the salon's facial room and was unharmed while another man locked himself in a bathroom but was wounded.
The shooter was spotted fleeing from the scene when police arrived and gave himself up after a short car chase.
Lydia Sosa, who used to work at the salon, said the suspect had gone through a bitter divorce with one of the women who worked there.
'They were never happy for a long, long time,' she told the New York Times.
'She said he was bitter. He was very bitter.'

Man, 81, 'posed as doctor and performed fake door-to-door breast exams'

Deal: Phillip Winikoff from Florida will try to escape prison after reaching a plea deal
Deal: Phillip Winikoff from Florida will try to escape prison after reaching a plea deal

An 81-year-old man who posed as a doctor so he could con his way into women's homes and perform fake breast examinations has struck a plea deal with prosecutors, narrowly escaping spending the rest of his lief in prison.
Phillip Winikoff, from Coconut Creek, Florida, was accused of carrying out the pretence with a black doctor's bag in April 2006 at an apartment complex in Fort Lauderdale.
Two women are said to have fallen for his ruse and allowed him into their apartment.
The first victim, a 36-year-old, said once Winikoff was inside her apartment, he 'touched her breast'. She realised something was wrong when he moved his hand down into her pants and fondled her.
By the time the victim called 911, Winikoff had already found a second victim, the sheriff's office said.
Winikoff was charged with three counts of sexual battery, two counts of practising medicine without a license, two counts of simple battery, and one count of using the title of doctor without a license.

If tried and convicted, he could have been sentenced to more than 45 years in prison for the sexual battery charges and given another ten years for practising medicine without a license.

The specifics of the deal have not been disclosed, according to the Sun Sentinel, and it was not revealed whether or not it will keep him out of prison.
The alleged con happened around the same time an organisation called the Women's Breast Health Initiative started going door-to-door offering information on breast cancer and free mammograms.
Founder and executive director Andrea Ivory told the Sun Sentinel: 'Under no circumstances do any of our volunteers enter anyone's home, ever. We conduct outreach in groups of two or three. No one comes to your door alone and they are always female."

Top immigration official arrested after 'child pornography images found on his computer'

Accused: Anthony Mangione was arrested on child pornography charges

The chief of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in South Florida has been arrested as part of a child pornography investigation.Broward County jail records show 50-year-old Anthony Mangione was taken into custody yesterday on charges of possessing and distributing digital images of child porn on his computer.
Federal investigators searched Mangione's home in April and allegedly found the images on his computer.

Authorities said Mangione is likely to make his initial court appearance on  Wednesday when the exact charges would typically be made public.
The 50-year-old has been chief of ICE's Miami-based office since 2007. He has been on paid administrative leave since spring. Neither ICE nor Justice Department officials would comment further.
Investigators previously said the search was based on an alert from AOL, where Mangione had an e-mail account.

Justice Department, FBI and ICE officials declined to comment on the highly controversial case brought against the suspended special agent in charge of ICE’s South
Mangione was placed on paid administrative leave in April after BSO deputies and FBI agents began investigating four images of child porn he allegedly received on his home computer via an AOL e-mail account, according to sources familiar with the probe.

An investigation found even more child porn on his computer over the coming months as forensic analysis was conducted on his computer and other electronic equipment to determine whether Mangione sent, received or distributed illegal digital images of children.

AOL monitors the distribution of child pornography by its users and when they found the images sent to Mangione's computer they alerted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
This led to the identity of Mangione, enabling the FBI to obtain a search warrant and seize his computer.
According to the Miami Herald, as special agent in charge of ICE’s South Florida office, Mangione often praised the agency’s efforts to fight child pornography in both the cyber and real worlds.
He was planning on retiring this summer after having worked with customs for 27 years.

The underage sex was discovered when a police patrol in Belleville, Illinois, spotted two girls drinking alcohol.
As they questioned the teenagers, one of the officers asked: 'Where are your parents.'
One of the girls spoke up and pointed towards a car in a nearby parking lot. When officers approached the car they found Wilson engaged in a sex act.
Wilson was booked into the St Clair County Jail, with her bail set at $75,000.
Court records revealed that in March she was charged with a misdemeanor of contributing to the delinquency of a child and possessing drug paraphernalia.
Both cases are still pending.
