Man Sentenced To 50-100 Years After Raping Multiple Children

TUNKHANNOCK - A 42-year-old Taylor man will serve 50 to 100 years in prison for sexually abusing five children, several of whom spoke at the man's sentencing hearing.

Vincent Clark's oldest victim, a 15-year-old girl, began to cry while addressing the Wyoming County President Judge Russell Shurtleff at the hearing Tuesday, suggesting a death sentence would be appropriate. Another victim, a 13-year-old girl, said Mr. Clark should "not have the satisfaction of walking on this earth" for all that she lost the last five years of her life.
The Times-Tribune does not identify victims of sexual abuse.
Mr. Clark was sentenced on 34 separate counts, including rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault and related counts. As he handed down the sentence, Judge Shurtleff went victim by victim, noting the defendant violated the most sacred trust between an adult and child.
Mr. Clark's attorney, Paul Ackourey, asked the court to make sure that Mr. Clark got credit for 548 days already served in a county lockup.
