Cop Sodomized Young Boy and Only Recieves 30 Days in Jail

Police Officer Christopher Allen Carson Mugshot
A police officer from Virginia charged with sodomizing and performing oral sex on a seventh grader gets an unconscionable plea bargain, will spend just 30 days in jail and will not have to register as a sex offender.

Were he and the judge both members of NAMBLA?

Police Officer Christopher Allen Carson background

Thirty-year-old Virginia State Trooper Christopher Allen Carson (pictured above) was charged with a multitude of child sex crimes including but not limited to exposing himself and forcibly sodomizing a seventh grade boy in 2001. He was also charged with performing oral sex on the same boy while that boy slept. The boy (who is now in his late twenties) says he came forward after witnessing the media coverage of the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse trial and empathizing with the victims.
The boy’s disclosures prompted the Virginia State Police to conduct an internal review of Carson, during which they determined that on two separate instances Carson had given pornographic videos to another minor in 2011. However, despite the seriousness of the charges and the seemingly evident pattern of behavior, Carson appears to have been given what amounts to a free pass.

Herman A. Whisenant Jr. Steps in as Judge of the proceedings

Retired Judge Herman A. Whisenant Jr. was the judge of the proceedings. Whisenant is a retired judge, who only participates in a minimal number of cases to which he is specially appointed. In this case it is likely that Whisenant was appointed to the case to avoid another local judge from having to persecute a member of the Virigina State Police. As noted by TheFullCourtPress judges such as Whisenant are usually appointed when the state has an interest in the case being decided in a certain manner, and “a local judge who is accountable to his community won’t do it.”

Officer Carson gets plea deal

I like to believe there is a difference between special treatment and a miscarriage of justice. Special treatment is when a cop lets a fellow cop out of a speeding ticket. Allowing an alleged child rapist off the hook with no more than what amounts to a slap on the wrist is a miscarriage of justice. In this case, Judge Whisenant agreed to plea deal, which saw Carson having most of the charges against him dropped.
The plea bargain came just one day before a jury trial was set to begin. Shockingly, the charges of forcible sodomy and indecent liberties with a child were dropped as part of the deal. While Whisenant did initially recommend a nine-year prison sentence for Carson, only 30 days of that sentence will actually be served due to the plea bargain. Carson will remain on probation for two years following his month term in prison, but he will not be forced to register as a sex offender.
I don’t know all of the facts of the case, however, from what I do know, this is despicable. It is bad enough that a person whose job is to protect children could have abused that power for their own sick and twisted benefit, but allowing this pervert to walk free is a government approved stab in the back to every child who has ever been sexually abused. Shame on Chritopher Allan Carson for committing these heinous crimes, and shame on Judge Herman A. Whisenant and all others in the Virginia court system who aided this monstrous criminal.

Double standard?

If I haven’t presented enough information in this article to convince you that Officer Carson received a free pass, then consider for a second that Judge Whisenant presided over a very similar case in 2012. In that case, thirty five year old Donald Hausen was charged with sexual battery, manufacturing child pornography, and distribution and possession of child pornography. He was convicted and sentenced to 66 years, and will also have to register as a sex offender upon release.

War on Drugs continues

It’s worth mentioning that the state of Virginia still has some of the toughest sentences in the country. Just, apparently, not for Police Officers charged with sexual abuse. For example, back in 2013 thirty-year-old Joaquin Vicencio, and twenty-four year old Joaquin Cortes were sentenced to eleven years and ten years, respectively, for growing Marijuana. What kind of world do we live in where people growing a plant get harsher sentences than alleged child rapists?
